What each number is, what it is not, and every version of the method with the date it took effect.
Attention method v1 · since 4 Nov 2026
English Wikipedia human pageviews, agent type user, for each foundation brand's article. The monthly board reads the last 24 complete months; the 30-day mover reads daily views for the trailing 60 days. The Japanese number is a second column, never added to the English one. Not search volume.
Search method v1 · since 4 Nov 2026
Google Trends interest in baskets of at most five terms: the anchor brand plus four. The index is the brand's 52-week mean divided by the anchor's. Raw values are never compared across baskets. Off until a provider is configured. Not a count of searches.
Resale method v1 · since 4 Nov 2026
Active eBay listings in the men's clothing and men's shoes categories, resolved by name from the Taxonomy API. A drop's panel shows the matched estimate, not the raw query total. Median asks need ten matched fixed-price listings. Not sold prices.
Press method v1 · since 4 Nov 2026
Headlines from tier 1 and 2 outlets through GDELT and RSS, clustered into stories, matched under each brand's match mode. Level is the sum of story weights over 30 days; surge is level over the median weekly level of the prior 52 weeks. Not a quality score.
Corporate method v1 · since 4 Nov 2026
SEC EDGAR company facts, read with a reduced copy of the Mavin filings reader: facts anchored to the filing's own accession and period end, revenue chosen by the filing's own arithmetic, amendments that replace only when complete. Each issuer keeps its reporting currency. Not menswear sales unless the filing says so.
Search leans on SerpApi, which reads Google’s pages on the site’s behalf, until the official Trends API grants access. It is the one place the desk uses a service that is not an official API.
